Do you have a keto mom in your life who needs a gift? Whether it’s for birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, or Make Up Your Own Holiday Day (yes, apparently that’s a thing), I’ve got you covered!
While there are plenty of things that your particular keto mom would like that have absolutely nothing to do with her diet, giving a gift to someone on a keto diet does present some challenges.
The last thing you want to do is get them an expensive box of chocolates, only to have them say, “I’m sorry, I can’t eat this.”
As gift givers, I think we’d all like to give our loved ones gifts that are useful, helpful, and thoughtful. So this list aims to be all of those things!
As a keto mama myself, I want to share with you gifts that will make the keto mom in your life feel loved and seen! I’m including things that will save them time, make their lives easier, and make them feel special.
Gifts for the Keto Mom
Kitchen Gadgets
These kitchen gadgets are great for any kitchen, but they’re things that are extra helpful once you’ve switched to a ketogenic diet.
This is because your keto mom will be making more things from scratch and relying less on anything processed or pre-made.
Food Processor
A food processor is something I recommend for all kitchens because they’re really handy to have around. But for a keto mom, a food processor will make her life so much easier.
I use mine for mixing my versatile keto dough or scones, making velvety smooth mashed cauliflower, and mixing up a batch of keto hot chocolate mix.
This particular food processor is the one I use and it’s a total workhorse that does everything I’ve ever asked it to.
Spiralizer
Since pasta isn’t keto-friendly, a spiralizer like this one can turn things like zucchini into noodles. I like this one because it’s a handheld one that doesn’t take up a lot of space and it’s inexpensive but works well.
A Good Blender
A good solid blender is a great choice for anyone, but in my keto kitchen, it’s essential for making my own sweetener blend. Keto sweeteners can be super pricey, so I create my own blend to save a ton of money.
I like this Blendtec one (I got mine refurbished, and it’s still amazing) but I know many who swear by Vitamix
.
I also use my blender for smoothies and for making pancake and waffle batter.
Kitchen Scale
Keto recipes for baked goods can be finicky, especially if you’re talking about trying to bake keto bread. So a good kitchen scale is really important to ensure good results.
I’ve had this one for years and it’s held up well.
Tortilla Press
This one is a bit more unusual, but if your keto mom likes tacos, quesadillas, or wraps, this is a great option. Yes, you can buy some low carb tortillas at the store. But they’re full of ingredients I don’t want to eat (grains and extra gluten) so I make my own. Having a tortilla press makes this go so much faster than rolling them out by hand.
Instant Pot
I would recommend an Instant Pot for every busy mom out there, keto or not. I adore my instant pot for days when time is tight. I throw a frozen bag of chicken in there and set the timer to 10 minutes, and voilà! I have shredded chicken in to time.
And you guys, this model comes with a lid that turns it into an air fryer! What?! I need one.
Keto Treats
I’ll be honest. There have been several holidays that have gone by when I was more than a little bummed that I couldn’t just go pick up a box of Valentine/Halloween/Christmas chocolates and call it a day.
It’s also frustrating when everyone around you is eating chips or cookies you can’t have. But with the keto diet becoming more popular, I’m happy to say that there are many more options now than there were when I started out.
Crunchy, Salty Snacks
While snacking on keto isn’t something you should do every day, sometimes you just need a salty crunch in your life. These are my favorites.
Moon Cheese, Whisps, and ParmCrisps
These three snacks are all cheese-based snacks, and they’re getting more and more flavors every time I look! Moon Cheese is a super crunchy, spherical shaped cheese snack. I often find big bags of the cheddar version at Costco.
Whisps are flat cheese snacks that are a little less crunchy and more crispy. I really like them as a replacement for croutons in salad.
ParmCrisps are similar to Whisps in texture, but they have a different range of flavors. I’m currently obsessed with the Sour Cream & Onion flavor. It makes me feel like I’m eating regular chips again.
Chocolate
Most moms I know love chocolate, and keto moms are no exception.
ChocZero
ChocZero has done an amazing job at creating fun, seasonal products, especially within their chocolate line. They’ve had heart shaped chocolates for Valentine’s Day, Pumpkin peanut butter cups and ghost shaped truffles for Halloween, maple pecan truffles for fall, and even an advent calendar for Christmas!
Year-round, they have chocolate squares, peanut butter cups, as well as chocolate chips (dark, milk and white) and syrups. I use their maple syrup for pancakes and waffles! ChocZero is a great choice if you’re sensitive to sugar alcohols, as all of their products are sugar alcohol-free!
Lily’s
Lily’s Chocolate has been around for a while, and it’s a staple in keto households for a reason! Lily’s has chocolate bars, chocolate chips, peanut butter cups, and chocolate covered almonds and peanuts.
Lily’s offers an abundance of chocolate chip flavors, as well, including butterscotch, salted caramel, peppermint, and pumpkin spice. They have seasonal chocolate bars that come out every year as well.
One of my favorite things about Lily’s is that many of their products are available at Target! And they’re often cheaper there than on Amazon, even. My absolute favorites are their dark chocolate peanut butter cups, their dark chocolate sea salt bar, and their dark chocolate covered almonds. I’m a dark chocolate girl, what can I say?
Pascha Chocolate
I have been obsessed with Pascha’s 85% Dark Chocolate Chips since I first encountered them. They’re incredibly high quality and taste amazing. They’re hands-down the best chocolate chips I’ve ever had. Ever. I bought a 10 lb box from Amazon because I like them that much.
They do contain sugar, but since they’re such a dark chocolate, the carbs stay low. And guess what?? Pascha just came out with 70% chocolate bars and chips
that are sweetened with stevia! I haven’t tried them yet, but I can’t wait!
Pascha is also 100% free of dairy, nuts, wheat, soy, eggs, and emulsifiers, making them safe for all major allergies.
All three chocolate brands listed use chocolate that is slavery-free.
Want a homemade peanut butter cup option? Make a batch of these for your keto mama!
Keto Wine
Listen. Sometimes mama needs a glass of wine after dealing with her little gremlins all day. But wines can be high in carbs sometimes, and it’s hard to know exactly how many carbs are in a glass.
Enter: Secco Wine Club. The wines at Secco are all low carb, low sugar. And they tell you exactly how much is in each bottle so there’s no guesswork!
So send your favorite keto mama a box. They also sell gift cards!
Keto Tools
While it’s not essential to have a ketone meter when eating a keto diet, they can be very helpful. With a ketone meter, its easy to find out how certain foods affect your ketone levels, and to make sure you’re staying in ketosis.
I don’t have one of these (yet!) but I’ve had my eye on a Keto Mojo Blood Glucose and Ketone Meter for a while. And I’d love to get one as a gift!
This one is great if your keto mom is a science and research nerd like me!
Keto Cookbooks
Every mom I know at some point gets stuck in a rut with dinner recipes. So why not give your keto mom the gift of inspiration through some quality keto cookbooks?
Keto Restaurant Favorites by Maria Emmerich is perfect for when you’re craving take-out but want to keep it healthy. It’s the perfect gift for the keto mom!
I don’t know a single mom out there who doesn’t need more fast recipes. We’ve got kids howling at our heels for food constantly, and we have better things to do than spend hours in the kitchen. Get your keto mom this Quick Keto cookbook by Martina Slajerova.
If the keto mom in your life likes to bake, get this cookbook! It’s incredibly thorough and has amazing recipes. Keto Baking by Carolyn Ketchum is a must-have for any keto kitchen.
So this book isn’t exactly a cookbook. But it’s a great resource for women on how to do keto in a way that supports our unique hormones and has tips for healing imbalances. Keto for Women by Leanne Vogel is a great read for any keto mom!
Gift Cards for Clothes
The ketogenic diet is known for aiding with weight loss, and when I switched my diet, I had to get an entirely new wardrobe. I also needed some clothes to get me through the transition between my starting weight and goal weight.
Clothes are expensive! Especially when you need to replace all of them. So consider giving your keto mom gift cards to stores that sell the kind of clothes she likes!
Gifts for Keto Moms
Whatever you choose to gift your keto mom, make sure it’s thoughtful and takes her unique personality and situation into consideration. Find gifts that make her life easier or allow her to indulge a little. Find gifts that show you pay attention.
And if I know moms, she’ll probably love it because it’s from you.
